Just So Happens

This week, my fifteen year old son, Jonah traveled by airplane across the country for the first time alone. On his way home, he was at Logan airport and after saying goodbye to family in Maine who dropped him off, he went through security, and found his gate. Jonah looked over and “just so happened” to see a familiar family from our tiny church in Utah. This family saw he was traveling alone and bought him dinner. Then, they were on the same exact flight back to Salt Lake City, sitting a few seats behind him. Out of all the people and places in the world, God showed up where my son was and used this family who love Him to remind me of His caring touch on those I love.

We had no idea that he would have a family from our church of about thirty people flying back with him. We had no clue that they had been on the east coast visiting Boston at the same time Jonah was on the east coast. But, there are no “just so happens” in life. Only a tender, loving and big God can orchestrate and ordain these special blessings for us!

“…for I know whom I have believed and I am convinced that He is able to guard what I have entrusted to Him until that day. (2 Timothy 1:12).

We can trust Him with our loved ones! When we are wondering if He is working in the lives of those we love, He is!

God is watching out for them, in ways we cannot even dream up. He is putting other Believers in their lives, orchestrating paths to meet and intertwine with Himself.

He is always faithful.

“Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass” (1 Thessalonians 5:24).

The night my teen was traveling alone, God showed me that He will take care of my loved ones. His eyes move to and fro throughout the whole earth looking out for those who love Him. It just so happens, that our God reigns and is in control of it all.

  1. Oh Ashley, what a beautiful testimony of God’s love, grace and faithfulness in watching over His children-both younger and older! This will be a special remembrance for Jonah to know how God is so faithful in all that He does! I am so thrilled for all of you and thank our heavenly Father for watching over Jonah and putting this all together before it was even lived out! Merry Christmas!
