Here we were, in a valley. Mountains encompassing us and there was one way, up. As the peaks hung overhead and extended far beyond the clouds and our line of vision, doubt and fear so quickly squeezed the very stamina we needed to trudge on up. Isaiah 41:10 came to our mind and one step at a time, God’s strength moved us forward on the seemingly treacherous path.
“‘Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’”
As our hearts wonder, “But how, how will we make it to the top of this?” His Word reminds us it is in His power and that He will uphold us. What a promise!
Paths many of us ladies have ahead, are nothing short of alarming. When I remember the competence of the One whom my soul trusts, it quickly reassures any weariness and anxiety like a soothing salve. Of course, God has all things under control, He is God!
“Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the whole world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God.” (Psalm 90:2)
God is greater than any physical or figurative mountain we will ever embark. We gain tremendously when we surrender our trust to Him. It is a gaze fixed on His promises in the Bible that enable us to approach our mountains with unwavering confidence. Strength is our hand in His.
