Nothing Can I Bring

This week I had two ladies pitch a pretty hard sell to me. They did this by starting out by being overly nice to me. Maybe I am gullible, but I was a little taken in. Of course flattery helps, one of the ladies said she could not believe I am married, that I looked so young and she asked, “What is your secret?” This obviously appealed to me.

Both ladies acted like they wanted to be my best friend in their sales pitch and I can see that if I was made of money, I might have taken an interest. Fortunately, it is a no brainer and I can adamantly say, “no, thank you.”

I think these ladies are very good at what they do, I was however a little sad that they were being nice to me to get something. Quite obviously too.

As I thought about it, I reflected on our Lord, I realised that God does not need anything from me, He does not ask anything of me except that I choose Him and love Him.

God is awesome, He does not need us, but He chooses us and He loves us.

Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Christ died for us even though we are sinners, He died once and for ALL. God sent His son to die for us so that we might live with Him for eternity.

We cannot earn our way into Heaven, there is nothing that we can do to get in, we need to simply ask Jesus to be our Saviour.

It is so comforting, in a world where people seem to be out for themselves, that the one person who really matters loves us beyond what we can imagine.

In the same way, this is how He teaches us to treat others.

Matthew 10:8b “Freely you have received, freely give.

Sharing His love for others in our words and in the way we treat people, while expecting nothing back, is how we shine our lights for Jesus.
