There will always be a never ending to-do list and I cannot do it all. I do not know about you, but I am sick of juggling everything as if perfection is attainable. A clean house, perfect parenting, home-cooked healthy meals, it is unrealistic.
2 Corinthians 5:21 says:
“He (God) made Him (Jesus) who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him (Jesus).”
My striving and trying is never going to be good enough for God. Righteousness comes solely because of what Jesus did on the cross for me, for all of us. So, why am I not resting in that?
A lovely lady in my life reminded me that I am not alone in this. She shared,
“My worth isn’t being a great wife and mom, my worth is Him dying on the cross for me.”
“He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.” (1 Peter 2:24)
Jesus healed us. That is it, plain and simple. Solely in Him we are righteous before God.
I am choosing to remember everything He did for me and when I forget, I hope my girlfriends will remind me that Jesus paid it all. Rest.
Thank you for taking the time to remind others of God’s greatest gift. BE STILL! My favorite verse and yet I forget it often.
