True Friends

Our little Kezia said her first sentence this week. On my birthday, my hubby and I took her to a nearby mall. We walked passed the brightly colored Build-a-Bear Workshop with all the pretty stuffed animals tucked inside and Kezia pointed at a sparkly bear and said, “I want one.” It melted our hearts to hear her sweet little voice!

Looking in that store is quite the sight, it draws you in with all the pretty colors and glitter. I hope that our lives, following Jesus draws people in! I hope they see Him in us, a bubbling over of love, peace and joy.

One way we can show others Jesus is by our genuine love for other Believers.

“By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another” (John 13:35).

When I see this genuine love Believers have for each other, it gives me so much joy. It is sweet, kind, and gentle. It is not fake, which is so contrary to what the world is like. It is putting others first, looking out for each other, and truly being there to lift each other up. It treasures, embraces, and celebrates.

There is a bubbling over of love, walking together through this life. It is a picture of our friendship with Jesus! I hope when others see our love for each other, they think, “I want one. I want a relationship with the God Who wants to be my friend.”

  1. Dear Ashley, This is so precious to read about you and Chris and Kezia! How adorable! I really appreciate how you wrote about friendship with Believers and with Jesus, I think of the word “contagious.” Many times we can think of someone with a cold being contagious but it can be that our relationship with Jesus and other Believers can be a sweet fragrance that draws others to us and Jesus in our hearts! It’s the Light of Jesus that warms and draws others to us because of Him!
