Is My Effort Worth It?

Sometimes, I feel as though there isn’t enough of me to go around. Just in my house alone, I work hard and it is still impossible to keep up with all of the needs of running a household of nine. And there are lots of others outside of my house, who I love and I want to be involved in their lives. In this stage of my life, I have to lay it all down because in my strength, I can barely hold anything up.

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

2 Corinthians 12:9

Most days, I feel stretched like a wriggled up hose with a kink in it wondering if even traces of Jesus are getting through. But, when I feel this weak, I can know that His power is made perfect. The hose is spraying far and wide.

We all have different day to day ministries and we can all wonder if our efforts are worth the blood, sweat, and tears. Keep stepping forward, friends. When you are feeling weak like you can’t go on, rest in knowing that Christ’s power is made so perfect. The spray is touching beyond anything you can see and what we can’t see, that is what truly matters.

“because we look not at what can be seen but at what cannot be seen; for what can be seen is temporary, but what cannot be seen is eternal” 2 Corinthians 4:18

  1. I so relate to this! We are only a family of three( so far!) yet I never have enough hours in the day to get everything done, keep in touch with friends and family, etc. Social media keeps me connected in part, but real meaningful relationships need to be watered( in person) in order to grow strong.
